70 -- GENERAL PURPOSE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EQUIPMENT SOL NHLBI-PS-99-503 DUE 092599 POC Deborah Coulter, Purchasing Agent, (301)435-0368 Fax (301)480-3345 The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Relais International, 1690 Word ward Drive, Suite 215, Ottawa, Ontario K2C 3R8 Canada, for the purchase of six (6) Relais Scanner Workstation defined as: (1) Fujitsu 3096 EX Flat Bed Scanner with modifications, (2) M2000 PSC Bar Code Reader with Autosense Stand, (3) Custom Relais Mobile Workstation Cart, (4) Panasonic foot Pedal, and (5) Relais Scanner Software. The Relais Workstation is a document delivery system that allows the NIH Library, to scan, track, send and receive requests through Relais workstations. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 5045, Size Standard is 100 employees is applicable to this requirement. The small Business Set-Aside for this requirement has been lifted. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement.
