1999 US ARMY TANK-AUTOMOTIVE AND ARMAMENTS COMMAND ADVANCE PLANNING BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Advance Planning Briefing for Industry (APBI), October 25 -- 27, 1999, Dearborn, Michigan. The 1999 TACOM APBI will provide broad based business planning information to industry relating to future tank-automotive and armament plans, programs and acquisition opportunities. Briefings will present market opportunities and plans to include research and development efforts, procurement of end items, secondary items, maintenance, and other system support business. The intent is to encourage and support early and appropriate communication between industry and the government during acquisition planning process. The APBI is designed for industry executives involved in advanced planning, directors and managers of research and development, senior engineers concerned with vehicle systems, smart munitions, small arms, and future artillery projectiles development, engineering and production. Breakout sessions will include Foreign Military Sales Overview, Information Data Environment, DCMC Briefs on How Small Businesses get work with Prime Contractors, DLA -Columbus, Focused Sustainment, and TACOM Quality Federation. The Keynote Speaker will be Lieutenant General James M. Link, Deputy Commanding General (DCG), US Army Materiel Command. Other speakers will include Major General (MG) John S. Caldwell, CG, TACOM; MG John F. Michitsch, PEO, Ground Combat Support Systems; Mr. Jerry L.
