The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC intends to award a sole source contract to Rafael Armament Development Authority, Propulsion & Explosive Directorate located in Bialik, Israel for the manufacture and delivery of up to 1,900 Rifle Launched Entry Munitions (RLEMs), 1,000 Training Rounds and 10,000 impulse cartridges. There are also potential options for total quantities of 6,000 RLEMs, 3,720 training rounds, and 15,00 stand-off rods. The RLEM is a Non-Development Item (NDI), which is a lightweight, rifle-launched munition that will breach doors while providing a safe distance from the target to prevent injury to the user.
