A -- SAFETY EVALUATION FOR ANTI-INFECTIVE THERAPIES SOL NIH-NIAID-DAIDS-00-29 DUE 123099 POC Ross Kelley, Contract Specialist, (301) 402-2234 The Drug Development and Clinical Sciences Branch, Therapeutics Research Program, Division of AIDS, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH, has a requirement to provide preclinical safety and pharmacokinetic assessments of experimental anti-infective therapies. This effort will support a comprehensive portfolio of contract resources to discover and develop novel therapeutic agents for the prevention and treatment of infections caused by human immunodeficiency virus, AIDS-associated opportunistic pathogens, and other infectious agents. This contract will help assure that experimental therapies will be comprehensively evaluated for safety prior to administration to humans, using protocols that are conducted in compliance with FDA's current Good Laboratory Practices regulations. It is anticipated that one (1) cost reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a period of seven (7)years, beginning approximately July 1, 2000. Following proposal submission and the initial review process, Offerors comprising the competitive range will be requested to provide additional documentation to the Contracting Officer.
