The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS), Tucson, AZ intends to negotiate a sole source contract, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302, with GE Diasonics Ultrasound, 2860 De La Cruz Blvd., Santa Clara, CA 95050. The intent of this contract is to procure GE Diasonics Ultrasound's Biomed service which will provide back up maintenance and repair support for the following ultrasound equipment: System Five (1 each) including all accessories and probes, and CFM 750 (2 each) including all accessories and probes. In addition to back up maintenance and repair service the contractor shall provide training to one SAVAHCS biomedical engineer on the subject equipment, unlimited repair parts, telephone support, two (2) hours emergency on site response time, unlimited access to online support service, periodic planned maintenance service. The contract is expected to be for a base year with four (4) one-year option extensions. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals, which may be faxed to (520) 629-1817, within 15 days after publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
