V-OFFICIAL AND LEISURE TRAVEL SERVICES AT MACDILL AFB, FL The Government intends to issue an extension to existing contract, F08602-93-S0006 to Bay Area Travel Inc, 2909 Bay to Bay Blvd, Tampa FL 33629, to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision and other items or services necessary to perform management and operations of commercial travel offices located at MacDill AFB FL. The period of performance is from 07 Nov 99 until the services are absorbed into the DoD-wide Commercial Travel Office (CTO) contract scheduled to be phased in May 2000. The DoD-wide contract will be solicited under full and open competition. Bay Area Travel is the one and only contractor who is in place and ARC-licensed to provide temporary services in a timely fashion without disruption until the requirement is rolled into the DoD-wide CTO contract. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, due to the very short period of performance.
