65 -- JOSTRA HEART-LUNG MACHINE SOL 69D-424-99 DUE 092399 POC Michael Cunningham, 414-902-5407 The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Jostra Inc to furnish and deliver a Jostra HL-20 Perfusion System to the Milwaukee WI VA Medical Center. This is considered to be a sole source because only the Jostra Heart-Lung Machine offers perfusion data collection through a memory card that will be able to be input directly to the VA's DHCP computer system without the need for a personal computer in the operating room (OR). Also, it is a low voltage system which protects against electrical problems in the event that liquids are spilled or sprayed in the OR. Also, all roller pumps will connect to the base without cables which could otherwise be tripped over and pulled out and simply add to the number of cables in the OR. Other firms who believe that they can meet the needs of the VA must provide information about their equipment by no later than Noon on September 23, 1999.
