65 -- UPGRADE TO AGFA PACS SOL 69D-423-99 DUE 092399 POC Michael Cunningham, 414-902-5407 The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with AGFA Corp for an upgrade to the PACS (Picture Archiving Computer System) at the North Chicago IL VA Medical Center. This consists of upgrading the existing RS-3000-2 from 2 monitors to 4 monitors and includes 2 Dome display cards. This is considered to be a sole source because it is an upgrade to existing system that is very complex and that is still under warranty. Only AGFA, the system integrator, is able to upgrade this system and assume responsibility for its integrated functioning and for maintaining the validity of the warranty. Other firms who believe that they can meet the needs of the VA must provide information about their equipment by no later than Noon on September 23, 1999.
