The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with ZAX Millimeter Wave Corporation for a canted pyramidal calibration target. Specifications: L-shaped array of iron-epoxy-coated with dimensions. Each pyramid is canted 45 degrees relative to the base material and consists of an aluminum pyramidal core coated with approximately 1.5mm of an absorbing iron-epoxy resin mixture. The vertical side of the target consists of an array of 66 wide by 38 high pyramids, while the horizontal side target consists of an array of 66 wide by 21 high pyramids. The target sides must fasten to custom 3/8 mounting plates using #10-32 threaded holes in the aluminum base material. Locking helicoil thread inserts will be required. The dimensions, coating thicknesses, absorber type, number of pyramids, and fabrication precision must be identical to the previous PSR calibration target received from ZAX Millimeter Wave Corporation. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned.
