This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Center intends to purchase: Perpetual License for a CFD analysis code for modeling flow problems. License shall inclde 1 year of maintenance. Software shall run on an existing, Government-owned Silicon Graphics, Inc. computer runing the IRIX operating system, ver. 6.3 and higher. Quantity, 1 ea. CFX-Radiation object code for use with the CFD analysis code. Quantity 1 ea. The Government intends to procure these items from AEA Technology Engineering Software, Inc., Bethel Park, PA 15102. AEA is the only source for CFX software and CFX software is the only software which meets all of the NASA GRC's needs for a design tool which performs moderately complex to complex computational thermal and fluid analyses. In addition, the new software must be compatible with existing, Government-owned CFX software. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-13. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3577 and 1,000 employees, respectively. Delivery to NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, OH 44135 is required within 15 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
