703-605-4548 USDA Forest Service intends to make a sole-source award to
Pinchot Institute for Conservation to assist on current and emerging
issues in Natural Resources Policy. The Pinchot Institute for
Conservation is uniquely qualified to meet the requirements of this
contract. The Pinchot Instistute is an independent, nonprofit
organization providing timely, objective natural resource policy
research and technical assistance for use use by an array of public and
private conservation organizations, policymakers, and the by the public
as a whole. The conservation policy issues on which the Pinchot
Institute provides information are of direct value to the Forest
Service, and match closely with specific policy and program areas
within the agency. The solicitation is for assistance from individuals
or organizations, independent of the agency but with thorough, current
knowledge of the Forest Service's operating environment, critical
policy and management issues, organizational structure, administrative
process in: A)Framing current and emerging natural resource policy
issues directly effecting agency programs and organizational
development; B) Providing independent policy research and technical
assistance as a basis for decision support to the Forest Service
leadership teams in the Cheif's office and in field locations; C)
Convening periodic issue roundtables to gather information and
perspectives from a diversity of sources and develop collaborative
strategies and perspectives from a diversity of sources and develop
collaborative strategies for addressing key conservation issues. The
Contract period is for 1 year from date of award. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
