Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center Lexington, KY, has a
requirement for use of a facility to perform Radical Perineal
Prostatectomy surgery, to include an anesthesiologist and ancillary
services. The contract facility must meet all licensing requirements
for an acute care medical or surgical facility, without restrictions,
as well as JCAHO accredited, or equivalent. The surgery shall be
performed by a licensed surgeon with full unrestricted contract
facility privileges, who would also be under a current contract with
FMC Lexington. The surgical facility shall be within 15 driving miles
of FMC Lexington. This will be a competitive procurement with award
being made to the offeror determined to be in the best interest of the
Government, price and other factors considered. These other factors
are Past Performance (quality of service, timeliness of performance,
business relations, and customer satisfaction), Technical Proposal, and
Related Clinical Experience. The importance of Past Performance and
Technical Proposal are equal, with Clinical Experience being less
important. It is anticipated that a Base Year will be awarded, with the
Government's unilateral right to exercise four (4) one year option
periods. Each year will be for a twelve month period. For each contract
year, there is a guaranteed minnimum of 1 surgical procedure and an
estimated maximum of 3 surgical procedures. Solicitation packages shall
be mailed out approximately 10/01/99, with an approximate due date of
