SATELLITE TELEPHONES The Pacific Northwest Region, Bureau of Reclamation (Boise ID) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Black Canyon Radio, 28 W South 4th, Montrose CO 81401, to acquire satellite telephones to meet our Y2K requirements. Delivery of the equipment must be no later than November 1, 1999. A supplemental purchase order will be awarded to AMSC Subsidiary Corporation, 7203 Gateway Court, Manassas VA 20109 for establishment of a Reclamation talk group, air time, monthly service, and technical support in the use of the satellite telephones. Reclamation has determined they must have Headquarters and all five regional offices on the same talk group and utilizing the same service provider. The company that provides the phone equipment is also then determined to be the service contact between Reclamation and the satellite provider, AMSC. Reclamation's Denver office (headquarters) have done market research and have already placed their order for these phones and services through Black Canyon Radio/AMSC. Firms that recognize and can provide the required items and services described may identify themselves by written notice to the Contracting Officer. This is not a request for competitive quotes. All responses received within 5 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
