The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Winchester Division, Olin Corporation, 427 North Shamrock Street, East Alton, IL 62024-1197 for the procurement of 78,400 rounds of 5.56MM Ranger Frangible Rifle Cartridges, Winchester Symbol RA556Jf, for use by the U. S. Marine Corps. Note 22 Applies. The rounds will be used to further testing that is currently ongoing with Winchester rounds, which were procured competitively under Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division contract N00178-99-C-1023. These rounds do not constitute the rounds that will be required by the USMC during FY 2000. This sole source procurement will utilize Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Closing date will be 28 September 1999. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ISSUE A WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION AS ALL ITEMS ARE IDENTIFIED IN THE COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY (CBD) NOTICE.
