contemplates a Firm-Fixed Price-Requirements Type contract for two(2)
Boring Machines. The solicitation number is 1PI-R-1447- 99, is being
issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP). The Standard Industrial
Classification is 3541. The business standard size is 500. Required
delivery is within 30 days after receipt of order. Descriptive
Literature is required with proposals. All required forms are available

Offorer Representations and Certifications Commercial Items. Line Item
is as followed: Quantity two (2), ROVER BORING MACHINES, SALIENT
CHARTERISTICS ARE AS FOLLOWED: ROVER 15 DRILL Machining Center with ten
vertical and six horizontal spindles, a router and grooving saw and
three position toolchanger. Work Table *Base is electric welded steel
ribbed frame stabilized to insure strength and precision during
operations. *The special design of the base, in addition to stability,
allows the easy removal of chips. *Machining area has 6 panel supports
with two side supports, manually adjustable with a pneumatic locking
system activated by a push button. *Support tables move on ground round
bars and ball bushings. *Six pneumatic backstops with automatic
lowering at machine start. *Two pneumatic sidestops, mounted on side
supports adjustable front to rear with automatic lowering at machine
start. *Two pneumatic central stops with automatic lowering at machine
start. *Engraved metric scale along "X" axis for easy positioning of
the panel supports. *Panel locking system consisting of 12 suction cups
(2 for each support),manually adjustable and self-locking, each cup is
equipped with a device which automatically activates the vacuum when
the panel is placed in position. *Forty cubic meter/h vacuum pump for
secure panel hold down. *Double function clamps (mushroom) included for
narrow pieces. *Two working zones, one side may be loaded while zone is
working. Operating Head *Boring unit with ten independent vertical
spindles, 32 mm apart, six on the X and four along the Y. *Three units
of two spindles each, for a total of six (two in X and one in Y) for
horizontal boring allowing all four sides of the panel to be reached.
*Circular saw for grooving along the X. *Router, 5 HP, right and left
hand rotation, 1,000 to 24,000 rpm with inverter included-ISO 30
adapter. Automatic Tool Changer *Located on side of carriage, with
space for 3 tools up to 60 diameter and 90 mm in length. Axes Movement

with FAR 52.215-5, Facsimile Proposals, facsimile proposals will be
accepted. Please telephone to assure that bid proposals have been
received, the day before opening. The due date and time for receipt of
proposals is October 4, 1999 1:00pm Eastern Stndard time. Each
proposal must contain the name, address and telephone number of the
offeror, as well as any discount terms that are offered. All offorers
must hold their prices firm for 60 calendar days from the due date
specified for receipt of proposals. Any amendments hereby issued to
this solicitation will be synopsized in the same manner as this
solicitation and must be acknowledged by each offorer. Any proposals or
modifications to proposals received after the specified due date for
receipt of proposals will not be considered in the price evaluation. In
order for the Government to evaluate past performance, each offorer
must submit references of at least five previously performed contracts
on the FP19999,999.9, Business Questionnaire. Award will be made to
the responsible offorer submitting the proposal that is determined to
be the BEST VALUE to the government, considering price and or cost
related factors, if any, as specified in FAR-14.201-8, past performance
and technical quality. The Government may make anaward with or without
any discussions with offorers, therefore the offorers initial proposal
should contain offorer's best terms from a price standpoint. It is the
