The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole source firm fixed-price purchase order under the auspices of FAR Part 12, to Kasten Chase Applied Research, Reston, VA for six (6) Optiva Secure Plus servers with one (1) year 8/5 support and one-hundred seventy (170) Palladium FORTEZZA modems with one (1) year 8/5 support. This is not a Request for Competitive Proposals. Interested parties have until 2:00 PM EST on 24 Sep 99 to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, clear and convincing evidence of their qualifications and/or capabilities to provide the aforementioned supplies and services. Such qualifications and/or capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after 2:00 PM EST on 24 Sep 99 will be considered non-responsive to this announcement and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not conduct this effort as a full and open competitive procurement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
