D -- DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) FOR INFORMATION REGARDING MAINTENANCE/REPAIR OF CRITICAL COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS AND SUBSYSTEMS FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN AEROSPACE DEFENSE COMMAND (NORAD) DUE 100199 POC Betty Sebastian, Contract Specialist (520) 533-1064, Fax (520) 533-1600 The US Army Intelligence Center and Fort Huachuca, Directorate of Contracting, is seeking information from companies, educational institutions, or other Federal agencies that are currently capable of providing management, maintenance, repair and logistics support of existing, highly sophisticated and critical communications systems and subsystems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). This work will involve two NORAD regions, the Continental United States (CONUS) and Alaska. CONUS is further divided into three Air Defense Sectors: (1) The Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS), Sector Air Operations Center (SAOC), located at Rome, NY; (2) The Southeast Air Defense Sector (SEADS) SAOC, located at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL; and, (3) The Western Air Defense Sector (WADS) SAOC, located at McChord Air Force Base, WA. This work will also include professional information technology services, such as system improvements, upgrades, and modifications (to include CONUS, Alaska and Hawaii), whichwill require extensive engineering knowledge and experience. Contractors are required to have five years recent experience in the requirements stated above. A Draft Request for Proposal is available electronically from the contract specialist listed below. A Pre-Solicitation Conference will be held 5-7 October 1999 at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL. Vendor attendance is limited to two attendees per company.
