extend the solicitation period to cob, 4:00 pm, pst on 9-23-99. The
following changes to solicitation N00244-99-T-B276 are listed as
follows: This statement provides the necessary clarification for the
"On-site Technical" service requirements of the Naval Base Ventura
County (PM/PH Sites), Public Safety Department, Office of Security and
Law Enforcement, Code PS100, in regards to the type of service
required in conjunction with the purchase of the new Motorola radios
and accessories. The activities requirement is as follows: Two (2) Year
on-site technical assistance for the new radios being purchased to
include the following: (a) Twenty-four (24) hour on-call service,
technician to be on-site within (1) hour (Point Mugu or Port Hueneme
Sites), barring any type of justifiable delays (this does not include
traffic delays resulting from normal daily traffic patterns). (b) The
Technician is required to diagnose and repair minor problems on site.
A supply of basic parts is required to effect the repair of the radios.
A one-day turnaround is to be expected for these minor repairs. (c) In
the event of multiple unit problems (meaning more than one radio or
radio chargers) the Technician will be required to diagnose the problem
and offer a solution to the Government representative. If the multiple
unit problems are related to the radios, chargers etc, the Technician
is required to determine if the problem can be repaired on site and
perform repairs. If it is determined that the radios or chargers are
not the problem and the problems are related to a repeater, base
stations or other associated equipment not covered by the warranty,
then other actions will be taken for the repair of that equipment. (d)
Initial programming and any future programming is to be provided for
the requested period. (e) Warranty repairs are to be expedited to
Motorola Contractors responding to the initial CBD announcement are
requested to review this amendment and adjust their quotation as
necessary and resubmit by the stated closing date and time. No further
