The Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI) intends to purchase a steam sterilizer, including installation, for its Veterinary Sciences Department. The required minimum essential characteristics or features are: (1) Size -- 16" x 16" x 26", Gravity type; (2) Building steam with pure steam piping to chamber; (3) Single door; (4) Single door mounting -- Cabinet enclosed/freestanding; (5) Minimum chamber capacity is 3.8 cu.ft. (109 liter); (6) Solid stainless steel chamber jacket and door; (7) Internal rack with two shelves; (8) Advanced electronic control system with touch screen, printer and at least 6 pre-programmed cycles (3 gravity and 3 liquid); (9) Foot pedal activated door seal; (10) Modularized piping and hinged front cabinet panel front full service access; (11) Automatic utility shutdown; (12) Optimal solution cooling; (13) Non-clogging liquid/media chamber drain system; (14) A minimum of three resistance temperature detector for temperature and water usage control. Vendor will furnish and install, site to be surveyed prior to installation. Old sterilizer will be removed and disposed of by vendor. Installation must be in accordance with manufacturers standards and specifications. Equipment must be certified Y2K compliant and UL and SAME approved. The solicitation and resulting contract will incorporate the provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 99-13. This requirement is not set aside for small business. This requirement is for 1 each Steam Sterilizer. Deliver FOB Destination to AFRRI, Bethesda, MD> Delivery 60 days ARO.
