The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with TACT Software, 84 West Park Place, Stamford, CT 06901 for the renewal of the maintenance support of the Hitachi GX8824, Group 80 DB-EZReorg and the HDS Skyline 825, Group 100 DB-EZReorg CPU software licenses installed on System 71 and System 75 located at the Social Security Administration (SSA), National Computer Center, 6201 Security Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21235. SSA uses the TACT software to reorganize the IDMS database files without incurring additional production data base unavailability in that it has the following functionality requirements: 1) allow execution before, during and after the restructure and/or unload/reload process; 2) take an in-flight backup of the affected area(s) while production remains up; 3) perform restructure and/or reorganization against a copy while production remains up; 4) feed the off-loaded journals into a "catch-up" process that analyzes the off- loaded journals and issues the required DML against thereorganized database until all journals are processed while production remains up; 5) compatibility with CA-IDMS software products; 6) compatibility with IBM/MVS operating environment; 7) unrestricted with parallel sysplex processing; 8) reorganize CA-IDMS SQL and non-SQL databases while available to the end-users for retrieval and update; 9) to be Year 2000 compliant; and 10) include full documentation and technical support.
