99 -- CUSTOMIZED DESK CALENDARS SOL HRA-9-R-00411 DUE 092399 POC Victoria Short, Contract Specialist -- 202/514-1959 This is a combined synopsis solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and its incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. The Standard Industrial Classification code for this procurement is 2678. The government's intent is to make a small business single award. PRODUCT: Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS) has a requirement for 15,500 Year 2000 customized promotional desk calendars. INS reserves the right to decrease the quantity. Each month of the calendar will be required to portray a different Border Patrol image. Each calendar, including the case, shall be 4-5/8" wide x 5.5" tall x 1/4" deep and include 14 sheets (Customized cover page, 12 loose calendar sheets with the Border Patrol image and customized printing on the bottom, and a 1 Year at a glance page. The backside of each calendar sheet shall contain an enlarged view of that month. The custom message at the bottom of each page shall be 3/8" x 4-1/2" and shall read, "U.S. Border Patrol, www.usborderpatrol.gov" in hunter green. The INS will develop the cover page, which may have to be modified by the contractor for printing. Imprint area for cover page will be 4-1/2" x 5". PACKAGING REQUIREMENT: Calendars should be packaged in plastic cases as follow: 3100 neon blue, 3100 neon green, 3100 neon pink, 3100 neon orange, and 3100 neon yellow. INS will supply the contractor with 12 different 35mm slides to be used for the calendar pages. The custom greeting cover page will be designed by the INS and sent electronically to the contractor. Contractor may have to modify image for cover page using more sophisticated graphics. BID Samples: Offeror shall submit (1) calendar/case setof the product sample along with the quote. The bid samples need to be mailed to the address listed below for approval no later than (2) calendar days after the closing date of this announcement.
