Hamberg, 512-326-6501 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation Center (AAC), Austin, TX intends to negotiate sole source with Compuware Corp. for continued annual software maintenance support and service bureau rights for the proprietary software, OS/MVS ABEND AID XLS & FILE AID BATCH, SPF, EXTENDED. The award will be made as a commercial acquisition under FAR Part 12. Maintenance support includes providing updates and enhancements to the software, and providing reasonable technical support. The software are installed on IBM 9672-Y66 at the AAC, and will be later moved to IBM 9672-Y76. The period of performance is FY 2000 (10/1/99 through 9/30/00). Responses must be in writing and must be received within 3 calendar days of this notice. In addition, responses must include pricing and documentation in sufficient detail to allow evaluation of the service. This includes the vendor's commercial price list, and GSA contract and price list (if one exists). Third party firms will be considered only if responding with clear and convincing evidence that they have been granted rights by Compuware to provide the service bureau rights and maintenance service on the proprietary software identified herein. No solicitation documents are available and requests for such will be considered non-responsive. If one is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. The determination to open competition based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone inquiries will be accepted.
