This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the following items (all a quantity of three (3)): 1) Upgrade of CTI Model 8500 Compressor to Replace CTI 8500 Compressors; Helix Technology/CTI Cryogenics part number 8135900G001 OR equivalent. 2) Cryopump Cryo Cable, 20 feet long; Helix Technology/CTI Cryogenics part number 8112212G002 OR equivalent. 3) Remote Connector Cable, 2 feet long; Helix Technology/CTI Cryogenics part number 8135193G020 OR equivalent. Specifications: a) Fully compatible with CTI 8500 compressor; b) Water cooled; c) Capable of supplying and operating a CT10 cryopump; d) The helium supply and return connections are compatible with CTI's flexline piping and are 1/2" self sealing coupling; e) Runs on 208 VAC, 3 phase, 30 ampere or less; f) 1/2" FPT water supply and return connection; g) Remote capability to turn compressor on and off by means of a relay; h) Helium pressure indicator; i) Helium recharge capability; j) Replaceable absorber; and k) Rolling casters. Vendors quoting equivalent equipment must include sufficient supporting documentation to show that the items quoted meet the government's requirement. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-10. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Please state the delivery schedule (number of days ARO for delivery to GSFC). Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Quotations for the items(s) described above are due by 4:30 p.m. EDT, on Tuesday, October 12, 1999, and may be mailed or faxed to Mary McKaig, NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Code 215/Bldg. 11/Rm. S215A, Greenbelt, MD 20771, fax 301/286-1720, and include solicitation number, FOB destination to this Center, proposed delivery schedule, discount/payment terms, warranty duration (if applicable), taxpayer identification number (TIN), identification of any special commercial terms, and be signed by an authorized company representative. Quoters are encouraged to use the Standard Form 1449, Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Items form found at URL: http://procure.arc.nasa.gov/Acq/Forms/Index.html to submit a quotation. Quoters shall provide the information required by FAR 52.212-1. If the end product(s) quoted is other than domestic end product(s) as defined in the clause entitled "Buy American Act -- Supplies," the quoter shall so state and shall list the country of origin. Selection and award will be made (on an aggregate basis) to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quoter. Technical acceptability will be determined by information submitted by the quoter providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product quoted meets the Government's requirement.
