THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AND NOTICE #379688 DATED 13 Sep 99 CONSTITUTE THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO CLARIFY AND ADD TO THE SPECIFICATIONS. OFFEROR MUST ACKNOWLEDGE NOTICE OF THIS AMENDMENT IN THEIR QUOTES. The following questions were received. (followed by the government's answer) 1. Is the compressor to be electric (single or 3-phase), gas, or diesel? Answer: 3-phase electric, minimum of 14 cubic ft per minute, 10 HP with high temperature lights and low oil warning/shutdown. 2. Is the system to be 5000 or 6000 psi? Answer: 6000 PSI. 3. Is the cascade system to be ASME or DOT bottles? Answer: the cascade system is to be either ASME or D.O.T. 4. What type of 5-yr maintenance is requested? Answer: the 5-year maintenance program must include (a). semi-annual maintenance on (1.) The compressor, ( 2.) The fill station, (3.) The cascade system (b.) this is also to include 5 years of filter changes. 5. What is involved with the installation requested? There is no way to price this out without knowing the answers to question #1. Answer: Installation requires, hard wiring to the compressor, ventilation installation, start-up operations and personnel training for system use of 6 personnel. 6. Is a control panel required with the two-bottle fill station? Answer: a minimum of a two bottle, EXPLOSION PROOF fill station is required with control panel. THE SYSTEM MUST FIT INTO A 6 FOOT BY 6 FOOT SQUARE. 7. What is the service interval requirement? Answer: semi-annually. 8. Service requirements to be performed? (a.) Oil change and filter yes. (b) purification cartridges- yes. (c.) Inlet filter yes. (d.) Air test. no. (to be performed on post.) REQUIRED DELIVERY IS BY OCTOBER 19, 1999 to the Technical Escort Division in BLDG 3534, Redstone Arsenal, AL. Each response shall include a positive statement to indicate that the requirement will be met, and references to appropriate technical literature/documentation, which substantiates the offeror's reply. It is the government's intent to issue a firm-fixed price order. The proposal must be signed by an official authorized to bind your organization. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered. Only vendors enrolled in Central Contractors Registration will be considered for award.
