FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to procure, on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, hardware, software and operating system maintenance for the Onyx2 computers used in the Joint Operational Visualization Environment (JOVE). This requirement is to provide services commencing in FY00 and extending for four (4) option years as required by the United States Atlantic Command Joint Warfighting Center (USACOM JWFC). Silicon Graphics, Inc. is the manufacturer of the Onyx2 processors and the only company with the requisite technical knowledge to maintain and repair the hardware, software and operating system as a complete package. All three components must work simultaneously to ensure that the JOVE system is operational. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or to submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition basedupon responses to this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
