The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) intends to award a contract under the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items (FAR 13.5) to Canberra Industries, Inc. Nuclear Products Group, Meriden, CT. The items being acquired are, (1) hand-held Gamma Spectroscopy system w/overpack manual P/N ESPEC-2 (12 EA); (2) Genie 2000 Basic Spectroscopy Software P/N S502C (1 EA); (3) Genie 2000 Gamma Analysis Software P/N S501C (1 EA); (4) Genie 2000 NuChart Nuclide Tables P/N S544CSL (1 EA); (5) Genie Right to Copy P/N S511C (11 EA); (6) 8 Nuclide Button Source Set (1 uCi each of Co-57, Co-60, Cs-137, Mn-54, Ba-133, Na-22, Cd-109, Cs-137/Zn-65 mix) P/N S-13 (12 EA); (7) additional operator manuals for item (1) (4 EA); (8) Copyright release for manual (1 EA); and 3 day customized training for 10 students at contractor's location. Delivery of all items except training will be not later than 1 DEC 1999 with training being completed not later than 23 DEC 1999. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which MARCORSYSCOM intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.5. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. A determination to compete or not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of MARCORSYSCOM. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document currently exists for this procurement.
