All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number M00146-99-R-0026 applies and is issued as a Request for Proposal. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-9. The Standard Industrial Code is 1099 and the business size standard is 500 employees. This requirement is for a firm fixed price type contract for a quantity of 240,000 each metal embossing strips for the base period to include provisions for four (4) twelve month option periods for a quantity of 960,000 each metal embossing strips. Five line item as follows: Line Item 0001: Base Period: Quantity 240,000 Each; Item Description: Metal Embossing Strips to be utilized to identify parts and components removed from aircraft. Size: 3.313" X .625", W/ (2) .125" Holes, Matl: (.015) 304 stainless steel; Line Item 0002: First Year Option: Quantity 240,000 Each; Item Description: Metal Embossing Strips to be utilized to identify parts and components removed from aircraft; Size: 3.313" X .625"; W/ (2) .125" Holes; Matl: (.015) 304 stainless steel; Line Item 0003: Second Year Option: Quantity 240,000 Each; Metal Embossing Strips to be utilized to identify parts and components removed from aircraft; Size: 3.313" X .625"; W/ (2) .125" Holes; Matl: (.015) 304 stainless steel; Line Item 0004: Third Year Option: Quantity 240,000 Each; Metal Embossing Strips to be utilized to identify parts and components removed from aircraft. Preliminary notice will be 60 days prior to expiration of the contract and the Contracting Officer may exercise the option by written notice to the Contractor 30 days prior to the expirations of the contract. This is considered adequate notice to ensure sufficient lead time for the contractor. FAR 52.232-33, Mandatory Information for Electronic Funds Transfer Payment; NOTE: Basis for Award: The Government intends to make award to the low, technically acceptable, responsive, responsible offeror whose offer is most advantgeous to the Government considering price, and other factors. In addition, offerors must be registered in the CCR. Offers must be received no later than 3:00 PM, local time, 19 Oct 1999. All RFP's not sent through the US Mail will be considered to be hand carried and direct delivered.
