J -- MAINTENANCE AND EMERGENCY SERVICES ON THE BRUKER SOL NCNS4000200001SLW DUE 100899 POC Sharon Walker 816-426-7267 x241 Fax 816-426-7530 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to contract for full maintenance and emergency services on the Bruker DMX-500 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectrometer (hereafter called the Instrument) located at the National Ocean Service, Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research (CCEHBR), Charleston Laboratory, Charleston, SC. The contractor shall be the instrument manufacturer and have the capability of providing replacement parts directly from the manufacturing process and parts with the latest engineering changes incorporated. The government only knows of one source Bruker Instruments, Inc who can provide this service. The intended procurement is for maintenance and service for which the government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC253(c) (1). This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The acquisition is being conducted pursuant to the guidelines set forth in FAR Part 13. The Government reservesthe right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to Bruker whichever is determined to be more advantageous to the Government without further notice.
