NASA/LaRC plans to issue a IFB/ Request for Offers for Services and Materials to Replace Cable 3DE4 -- -- The work to be performed under these specifications consists of removing a 6.6 kV feeder and splice box and providing a new electrical feeder and a switching center. The Contractor shall furnish all plant, equipment, tools, materials, labor and services necessary for or incidental to a complete and finished job. Work also includes: (1) Removing the existing and providing a new 6.6 kV feeder cable 3DE4 between Building 1293 and Moffett Substation, Building 1266. (2) Removing the existing 6.6 kV splice box located in manhole 1616 and providing an above ground 6.6 kV switching center. (3) Removing and providing a new direct buried 6.6 kV feeder cable between manhole 1616 and Building 1312. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $100,000 and $250,000 and the effort shall be completed within 250 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small BusinessCompetitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1731 and 7.0 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB/RFO is on or about October 14, 1999 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about November 13, 1999. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the IFB/RFO. Drawings will be available from the Bid Distribution Office 757-864-2547. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement [with the exception of the specifications and drawings] will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
