Questions may have been reworded for clarification purposes. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: Q. The requirement of a 150-225 word per minute transcription speed implies work being done by a person using CAT-equipped machine shorthand rather than a transcriber who may type 80-100 WPM. A. The method is not important as long as the rate is met. Q. Is the government accepting a written statement that the bidder can meet the required words per minute rate as complete verification of this capability? A. Yes. Q. Is it correct that for this contract, no tests or certificates are required? A. Yes. Q. Is a site inspection or live demonstration required? A. No. Q. Please provide the job description of a "linguist". A. A linguist, defined as a person who speaks several languages frequently, is not required. Q. Are the recordings on the provided tapes professional or amateur? A. Amateur Q. All tapes will be analog, quarter-track mono recordings? A. Standard cassette or micro cassette Q. How is identification of speakers provided on conference calls? A. Individuals will introduce themselves. Q. In the past, how many hours of transcription time have been charged per hour of recorded interview? A. That information is not available. Q. Is it the intent of the government that the contractor should bill based on a factor applied to the length of a given recording? A.
