Development (USAID) in Mozambique plans to issue a Request for
Proposals (RFP) to increase the use of essential child survival,
reproductive health and family planning services. The purpose is to
improve utilization of essential health services in Gaza, Manica,
Nampula, Niassa, Sofala, and Zambezia provinces of Mozambique by
increasing demand and supply. The activity is scheduled to begin
on/about June 2000 and end in September, 2002. A Request for Proposals
will be issued no earlier than 60 days from the date of publication of
this notice. The deadline for receipt of proposals will be
approximately 60 days after the date of issue of the RFP. All
responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration by
USAID/Mozambique. The preferred method of distribution of USAID
procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a
solicitation on a 3.5" floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.1/5.2 format). This

RFP, once issued, can be downloaded from the Agency web site. The
Worldwide Web address is http://www.info.usaid.gov. Select Business and
Procurement Opportunities from the home page, then "USAID
Procurements." On the following screen, select "Download Available
USAID Solicitations." The RFP can also be unloaded via Anonymous File
Transfer Protocol (FTP). The FTP address is FTP.INFO.USAID.GOV. Logon
using the user identification of "anonymous" and the password is your
e-mail address. Look under the following directory for the RFP:
pub/OP/RFP/HSD99-004/hsd99-004.rfp. Receipt of this RFP through
INTERNET must be confirmed by written notification to the contact
person noted above. It is the responsibility of the offeror of this
solicitation document to ensure that it has been received from INTERNET
in its entirety and USAID bears no responsibility for data errors
resulting from transmission or conversion processes. Interested
offerors may also request a copy of the RFP by submitting a written
requestalong with three (3) self-addressed, self-sticking mailing
labels or by fax to the number mentioned above. Telephone requests will
