B -- COMPUTER MODELING FOR HURRICANE HINDCASTING AND TIDE ANALYSIS SOL W42HEM-9256-9490 POC Susan Hartsock, Contract Specialist (504) 862-2863 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Westerink and Luettich Consulting of Southbend, IN for computer modeling analysis in support of hurricane hindcasting and tide analysis for the Southern Louisiana, Lake Ponchartrain-Mississippi Delta Region. The computer modeling analysis will utilize the ADCIRC-2DDI modeling system developed and patented by Drs. J.J. Westerink and R.A. Luettich. Drs. Westerink and Luettich possess the expertise necessary to perform the requirements of this analysis. The purpose of the computer modeling analysis will be to perform simluations of 7 different design configuration scenarios in order to evaluate hurricane stages using the ADCIRC model.
