DESC: DEFENSE NATIONAL STOCKPILE CENTER is soliciting quotes for Temporary Services for a Secretary and two Forklift Operators at the DNSC Baton Rouge Depot, Baton Rouge. Period of performance is from nine months from date of award. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. SP0833-99-Q-0041 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This acquisition 100% small business set-aside under Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code 7338. The small business size standard is $5.million. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. concerns. 1. Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) -0001- One temporary Secretary for forty hours (40) a week, for a minimum of 900 hours and a maximum of 1,456 hours. Period of performance will be nine (9) months from date of award. a) JOB DESCRIPTION: The Secretary is required to have skills in operating an electric typewriter, word processor, microcomputer or computer terminal to produce accurate and efficient work is required; Knowledge of work processing procedures and function keys required to execute several office automation functions, such as sorting and retrieving documents or files, activating a printer, inserting and deleting text is required. A common knowledge of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation and common office terminology to prepare correspondence or reports is required. b) The Secretary is required to use word processing software to produce a variety of documents, to be familiar with Windows 95, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and E-mail; be able to type narrative and tabular material (reports, studies, etc.) from clean copies or rough drafts; edit typed material, make insertions or deletions, retrieves, stores and prints material; Secretary will type form letters using standard paragraphs, checking spelling and format; Secretary may be assigned responsibility for receiving and sorting mail, setting up and maintaining a variety of files, filing and retrieving material when requested; reproducing a variety of material using copy machine; Secretary will answer telephone calls and take messages providing routine information and referring callers to appropriate staff members. 2. Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0002- Forklift Operators for 40 hours a week for a minimum of 1,200 hours and a maximum of 3,472 hours. Period of performance will be seven (7) months from date of award. a) JOB DESCRIPTION: Operator is required to perform a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping general or specialized bulk materials and equipment. Independently loads, and unloads materials; locates, accesses, loads, and moves materials for shipment, b) to have skill in operating a forklift, tractor, and capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches, c) to be able to utilizes automatic or manual transmission with up to four forward speeds and controls to lift and lower loads, d) drive forklift inside warehouse to store, stack, move arrange or retrieve general or specialized bulk materials and equipment and move shipments to and from loading areas; and to load and unload shipments from trucks. Operates warehouse tractors, forklifts, tugs and trucks and other material handling equipment and occasionally lift and handles items weighing 60 to 100 pounds. When operating forklift, must exert moderate physical effort in operating hand and foot controls and must endure strain caused by vibration of forklift. May sometimes be required to wear protective equipment such as gloves respirators, or aprons when handling materials. e) Operator is required to perform routine operator maintenance, as required and other duties as assigned. f) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicants total work experience and training must show enough competence and ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. Minimum of (1) one-year forklift operator experience is required. 3. Place of Performance: DNSC-MOBR-BATON ROUGE DEPOT, 2695 North Sherwood Forest Drive Baton Rouge, LA, 70814.
