This part is fracture critical low cycle fatigue(LCF) life limited and must be fabricated to specific minimum material propoerties. This item is a critical, heavy mass, high rotational speed assemblly. It is manufacured from forgings with critical quality requirements. This item transmits torque in the fan section of the eng All machining for the seal and its features is critical. The function of the rear rotating air seal is it bolts to the rear of the high pressure compressor (HPC) assemble, contains seal teeth and transmits torque to the HPC from the high pressure turbine. The seal rotates at up to 15,400 RPM. The dimensions are approximately 30 inches round by 1.75 inches in height. The material is powder metallurgy wrought rene 88DT alloy.
