of the U.S. Courts (AOUSC), has identified a need to produce
parameter-driven reports and forms. The Probation and Pretrial Services
Automated Case Tracking System-Electronic Case Management (PACTS-ECM)
application, currently being developed by the AOUSC, will need to
produce many parameter-driven reports and forms. The PACTS-ECM
application will be a web-based application deployed on the federal
judiciary's intranet. It is being written using Java servlets, HTML,
and javascript with the following system architecture: Workstation
Netscape Navigator 4.x or later. Windows95 workstation. Server
Operating System: Solaris 2.6 on X86 Database: Informix On-line Dynamic
Server 7.3+ Web Server: Apache 1.3.6 The features required of the
report writer are: 1. The product needs to work within our existing
system architecture. 2. The developer's product and run time version
must be database aware,using a connection to an Informix 7.3+ On-line
Dynamic Server engine. 3. The end user must be able to generate reports
viewable using a web browser without the need for any additional
desktop software. 4. We need to be able to restrict access to the
reports within our application based upon our customized security
implementation. 5. The developer's tool must have a graphical user
interface that allows for rapid design and development of reports using
standard drag-and-drop and point-and-click features to format the
reports. The product must also be capable of generating graphical
representation of the data., i.e., charts and graphs. 6. The reports to
be developed must: a) Accept user parameters, such as office location
or client number b) Display as HTML pages within the application. The
report should also be exportable to other file formats such as Adobe
PDF, Excel or WordPerfect. c) Include hyperlinks so the users can drill
down for more detailed information. The object of this survey is to
assess the marketplace for firms with the ability to meet the AOUSC
needs. Firms that have the capabilities to meet the requirements
identified above are encouraged to submit a detailed description of
their capabilities to support the Judiciary's requirements and
available functional and technical literature. The AOUSC also requests
that the firms indicate which schedule contract their products are
available on and provide the pricing schedule appropriate to those
contracts. If interested firms do not have a schedule contract, please
submit any pricing information appropriate for the requirements
identified above. This market survey is for informational and planning
purposes only. All information should be submitted to the above
