S -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH STANFORD UNIVERSITY. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Stanford University for the Pacific Marine Environmental Lab (PMEL). Purpose of contract is to create a 3-D interactive model and GIS of a hydrothermal vent site on Axial Seamount, Juan de Fuca Ridge, using a wide variety of PMEL's high resolution oceanographic data and visualization software. Key component of this project is creation of a digital, interactive 3-D model of parts of Axial Volcano on the Juan de Fuca Ridge. Proposed contract staff possesses Ph.D. in geology, successfully completed a similar product under a National Science Foundation grant.
