C-130 AVIONICS MODERNIZATION PROGRAM On 14-15 October 1999 the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program (AMP) Office will host an Aircraft Survey and Simulator Tour at Hurlburt Field, Florida for potential AMP Prime Contractor teams. AFSOC aircraft available on the flightline on 14 Oct 99 will include the following: AC-130H, AC- 130U, MC-130E, MC-130H, and MC-130P. We are working to also make certain AMC and ACC aircraft available on 15 Oct 99. AFSOC simulators available during the tour on 15 Oct 99 will include the MC-130H Weapons System Trainer and the MC-130 Mission Rehearsal Device. The preliminary schedule of events is as follows: 14 Oct 99 0800 -- 1630 AFSOC Aircraft Survey. Box lunches available at cost. 15 Oct 99 0730 -- 1130 AFSOC Simulator Tour 1130 -- 1230 Lunch 1230 -- 1700 AMC, ACC Aircraft Survey (TBD) This schedule will allow approximately 1.5 hours on each aircraft on 14 October and an hour for each potential AMP Prime Contractor team to tour each of the simulators on 15 October. Potential AMP Prime Contractor teams will have individual access to each aircraft and will be limited to a maximum of 5 people on the flightline per team. Select C-130 AMP government team members will be present during the aircraft surveys and the simulator tour. Potential AMP Prime Contractor teams will also be limited to 5 people during the simulator tour. AFSOC aircraft and aircrews/maintenance personnel will not be available on 15 October. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as rain (notwithstanding extreme weather conditions such as hurricane or tornado) will not cancel this event. For the aircraft survey, the base will provide power on the aircraft, aircrew and maintenance representatives for each aircraft, and a common meeting room on the flightline. Permission for potential AMP Prime Contractor teams to take photos on the flightline and photography support from the base are still TBD. Other support requirements need to be handled prior to arrival at Hurlburt Field.
