An award is anticipated for the purpose of establishing a weekend passenger shuttle bus program for visitors to the coastal headlands area of Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County, CA. The proposed award will be for a period of one year with options to renew an additional two years. Buses will be required to transport approximately 800-1,200 visitors on Saturdays, Sundays and Monday Holidays, during the peak visitation season of late December through April each contract year. Buses to have a 40-53 person capacity. A staging area as well as 1-3 shuttle stops encompass a shuttle bus loop of approximately 20 miles with an estimated 40 minute round trip travel time. Four buses (with operators) will be required each working day (3 full service with 1 relief operating between 12:30-5:00 p.m.). Scheduling will be based on staggered starting times from 9-10:00 a.m. and staggered finishing times from 5-6:00 p.m. Buses will be used on narrow roads in sensitive vegetation and related habitat areas. All operations will be contingent upon weather conditions. Given the variability in weather at the headlands area, there may be an occasional need to cancel service the morning of or night before undersireable days. Award selection will be based on 'best value' to the Government.
