P -- TIMBER SALE Sale of selected pine and hardwood timber in Record Units #12, #23, #27, #32, #38, #55 adjacent to East Boundary Road, South Gate Road, Southeast Gate Road, South Boundary Road and Bluff Bridge Road (units totals approximately 275 acres on the East Reservation, Barksadle AFB LA. There are approximately 7,123 pine sawtimber trees containing an estimated 980,556 board fee Doyle Scale and 10,398 pine pulpwood trees containing an estimated 636 cords. The sale also includes 224 hardwood sawtimber trees containing an estimated 47,222 board feet Doyle scale and 1,645 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 93 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. Cutting to begin no later than 180 days after award with 365 days to complete removal after contract is awarded. Timber harvesting will not be allowed during the 15-day annual gun deer hunting for Barksdale AFB. Anticipated issue date is 22 October 1999; anticipated opening date 22 November 1999.
