In accordance with FAR Par 12, this is a commercial procurement under Standard Industrial Classification Code 7363 with a business size standard of $5.0 million. The VA Medical Center 7305 N. Military Trail West Palm Beach, Florida 33410 has a requirement for temporary certified coders to begin on or about December 1, 1999 through November 30, 2000 with one (1) optional renewal year. Coders shall have completed an accredited program for coding certification or an accredited health information/medical record technician program. Coders shall provide coding and/or review of coding for patients in the ambulatory care setting, eight hours per day, five days per week. Yearly workload is 100% coding/review of an estimated 241,000 encounters in designated clinics and 10% review of an estimated 479,000 encounters in designated clinics. Issue date of solicitation shall be on or about October 26, 1999.
