C -- REPLACE 1000 KW GENERATOR SOL 573-09-00 DUE 111299 POC Richard Powell, 352 374-6033 Design services to furnish complete construction documents (Plans & Specifications) and construction period services for Project 573-00-103, "Replace 1000 KW Generator", at the VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL 32608. The A/E should have extensive experience with health care facility renovation projects and medical center emergency generators in particular. The A/E firm selected for the design will be required to perform all necessary site survey work, such as verifying record drawings and analyzing available information. The A/E firm selected will be required to retain a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide expertise in all aspects of assessing, abating, monitoring, and making recommendations concerning asbestos within the project scope of work. Firms should have the capability of producing construction drawings on a computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) system compatible with Autocad Release 12 software. Selection will be based upon recent specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to project, past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry, in terms of cost control, quality of work, compliance with performance schedules, and other appropriate evaluation criteria. Estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Consideration is limited to concerns within a 150 mile radius of Gainesville, FL.
