The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) Office of Contracts (CON) intends to award a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract Thomcast Radio Systems, Inc. (Formerly Asea Brown Bovera, ABB) on a non-competitive basis to procure specialized high power shortwave transmitter replacement parts for the commissioning of three Thomcast Radio, Inc. transmitters at BBG's Tinian Transmitting Station on the island of Tinian, Commonwealth Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). These parts must be supplied within a 60-day period to insure that the parts are available during the commissioning tests for these newly installed transmitters. This non-competitive procurement is proposed to be made pursuant to the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1, which permits other than full and open competition when "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy Agency requirements."
