National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to
establish a qualified products list applicable to radiosonde/signal
processing systems operating in the frequency band between 1668.4 MHz
and 1700 MHz and using the Global Positioning System (GPS) for
radiosonde position and wind determination. NOAA desires comments on
its draft statement of work and its draft specification for this
project. Parties with Internet capability interested in obtaining the
draft statement of work and draft specification may access them at the
web address "http://www.rrs.nws.noaa.gov". Parties may obtain a hard
copy of the draft statement of work and draft specification by
overnight courier by contacting Mary A. Watson at telephone (301)
713-0823 or e-mail Mary.A.Watson@noaa.gov or fax (301) 713-0806. NOAA
requests that parties submit comments not later than October 28, 1999
to the attention of Ms. Watson by mail at the header address or by
e-mail to Mary.A.Watson@noaa.gov or by fax to (301) 713-0806. The
Government will not award a contract based on this RFI. The Government
will not pay for information received in response to this RFI;
provided, however, that costs properly chargeable under Federal
Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Section 31.205-18, "Independent Research
and Development and Bid and Proposal Costs," may be allocated to
Government contracts consistent with the terms of such contracts.
