Thornton, Contract Specialist, 202-426-0126; David Tyma, 202-426-0130, Contracting Officer; FAX both 202-426-0164/0091 The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) intends to award a sole source contract to Bell Atlantic Federal Systems of Washington DC for installation and one year's support of one 100-Megabyte Per Second (MPS) Ethernet Fiber Communications Circuit to meet the Department's current communication requirements between two buildings occupied by DOE EIA personnel in Washington DC. This capability is necessary for the DOE EIA to meet its statutory energy forecasting responsibilities. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties should submit a capability statement along with price quotes for the above installation and support, to be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
