cperry@va.gov TVA and participating power distributors are planning to
launch a green power market test in April, 2000. As a part of this
effort, various energy efficiency links are being pursued. A
recommendation has been made to pursue a partner to provide an
e-commerce site that will allow all TVA customers to pursue energy
efficiency products. The partner should be willing to provide
residential green power participates with discounts on energy
efficiency products. The estimated number of green power participates
for the one year market test is 7,000. The target market for green
power tends to be higher educated and have more disposable income which
should be in line with the target market for this type of e-commerce
sites. The objective is to provide a source for energy efficiency
products; encourage the use of these products; and reward green power
participants with a discount on these products. The vendor should
provide an ordering system via the Internet, customer service, and
fullfillment for energy efficiency products. Product pricing should be
comparable with market value with special discounts for green power
participants. Products will not be subsidized by TVA. TVA would require
a monthly report on the number and types of energy efficiency devices
purchased by Valley residents. The Green Power program will be launched
April, 2000. The e-commerce site should be operational at this time.
The partnering vendor will be selected by December 1999. Posted
