COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 13,1999 PSA#245360 CONS/LGC, 350 Hangar Avenue, Travis AFB, CA 94535-2632 Z -- RENOVATE BLDG 22 ENGINE DSS AND AVIONICS STORAGE BUILDING, TRAVIS
AFB CA SOL F04626-00-R0100 DUE 120899 POC Maggi Holbein-Stephenson
(707)424-7748 E-MAIL: marguerite.holbein@travis.af.mil,
marguerite.holbein@travis.af.mil. This Request for Proposal(RFP)
establishes design and construction criteria for this project and
provides procedures, requirements, format and other data to assist
prospective offerors in preparing their proposals. The 35% design will
be provided with the RFP. Building 22, Engine DSS and Avionics Storage
Building, appears to be a building of unknown age, first constructed as
a tool storage facility with seven small offices, and then moved to a
new foundation in 1967. Some time later, a mezzanine was added for
approximately half the length of the building. The building is
currently used as an Engine DSS and Avionics Storage Building. As-Built
drawing documentation is not available for this building. Its
construction is typical "metal building" with tapered steel I section
columns and girders forming rigid frames at approximately 20' on
center. Siding is metal. The metal roof is carried by z-purlins, at
approximatly 5' o.c, spanning to the metal frames. Interior partitions
are wood frame. The mezzanine is supported by wide-flange columns at
approximately 12'o.c. Wide-flange floor beams carry 2x12 wood joists @
16" o.c. an a 3/4" plywood deck. This project provides for hazardous
material abatement (asbestos and lead based paint), improvements to the
exterior to conform to the base architectural standard (addition of an
EIFS system and an overbuilt metal roof), improvements to the main
entry and overall elevation (including an improved connection to
adjacent Building 21), contruction of administrative areas for two work
stations and an NOIC office, reconfiguring the first floor to provide
additional open storage space, reduction of the size of the mezzanine
and upgrading its loading capacity, construction of a handicapped
accessible break area, construction of handicapped accessible
restrooms, seismic upgrades, mechanical and electrical system upgrades,
adding fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems, and repaving the exterior
asphalt parking area. Issue date O/A 8 Nov 99. The estimated range of
this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The performance period
will be 18 months. Worked to be performed at Travis AFB, California.
