The Volpe Center plans to solicit a sole source through Simplified Acquisition procedures from Transportation Technology Center, Inc., Pueblo, CO, to provide Rail Impact testing of 8 ISO containers for the TACOM watercraft program. The purpose of this testing is for each container to meet all AAR, MTMC, and FRA requirements for rail transportation of the specialized containers. The containers will be tested on container on flat cars (COFC) which will be provided at the test site. Small Business firms classified under SIC Code 8334 that are interested in proposing on this requirement must respond in writing no later than 15 days from the date of this publication that they have the authority to operate at the Transportation Technology Center and have the experience with the required test ing listed above. Small Businesses will be required to submit a maximum of 3 pages, but, not less than 2 pages of documentation in support of the above for evaluation prior to receiving a solicitation.
