PRELIMINARY NOTICE OF CONTRACT CONSTRUCTION A project in Wasatch
County, Utah, Uinta National Forest, State Route 35, Wolf Creek Road,
UT PLH & PFH 5-1(2), is tentatively scheduled for advertising in late
1999. This advance notice is being given because weather and site
conditions may prevent viewing at the time of advertising for bids.
Wolf Creek Road is located approximately 70 miles east of Salt Lake
City, Utah. The project consists of reconstructing 5.2 miles of the
Wolf Creek Road from the east boundary of Uinta National Forest to
approximately 1/2 mile east of the West Fork of the Duchesne River
bridge . The work consists of grading, drainage and paving, including:
237,000 cubic yards of excavation; 41,000 tons aggregate subbase;
38,000 tons aggregate base; 16,500 tons hot asphaltic concrete
pavement; 3,400 linear feet culvert pipe (variable sizes), 52,000
square feet mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall with welded wire
face; 1,480 linear feet soil nail wall; 5,500 linear feet guardrail; 61
acres clearing & grubbing; 9,650 linear feet fence; associated survey
& staking and traffic control items. This work will also include 27,500
feet of 8 inch municipal waterline with lateral extensions to property
lines. A project showing is scheduled for Thursday, October 28, 1999.
Plans and specifications will be available for review at the project
showing. Potential bidders should meet at 10:00 a.m. local time at the
West Fork of the Duchesne River bridge (near the Stockmore Ranger
