E-MAIL: Richard C. Shisler, R.C.SHISLER@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a IFB for Rehabilitation of Building 1192C, West Area, Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, the following: Demolition: Removal of existing interior partitions, removal of interior finishes, including suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum wallboard, carpeting, removal of doors and frames, removal of existing metal roofing, storefront systems, HVAC systems, lighting, power, and fire alarm systems Architectural: New gypsum wall board partitions, hollow metal doors and frames, aluminum storefront and windows, provisions for new acoustical ceilings, floor coverings, painting of new existing materials and miscellaneous modifications Structural: Modifications to existing structural frame and foundation for entrance Electrical: New lighting, power distribution, communication system and fire alarm system. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $1.0M to $5.0M and the effort shall be completed within 270 calendar days afternotice to proceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1542 and $17.0M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about October 27,1999 with an anticipated bid closing date of on or about November 29,1999. All QUALIFIED responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Internet Note "B".
