Y -- FALCON CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT SOL R6-15-00-12 DUE 111599 POC Charlette MacDonald (541) 957-3233 Project involves demolition and removal of a 90-foot-long reinforced concrete deck girder bridge and two supporting piers, and construction of a 122-foot-long replacement bridge. The new bridge will be a simple-span structure consisting of two steel pile/concrete abutments; three deck bulb tee girders, asphalt wearing surface and approach paving; bridge and approach railing; riprap placement, and miscellaneous incidental work. Construction of an adjacent temporary crossing proposed/designed by and for exclusive use of the Contractor is also involved. This project site is approximately 25 miles east of Tiller, Oregon. All work taking place within the stream bed shall be confined to a season beginning July 1, 2000 and ending Septembe 15, 2000. Contract time allowance was developed based on a March 15, 2000 starting date and on time required for off-site preparatory work, including fabrication of girders, plus on-site demolition and construction activities. The Contractor shall be expected to schedule work to meet the September 15, 2000 deadline for completion of all work in the stream bed, including riprap work and removal of temporary crossing structures. Prospective offerors are highly encouraged to visit the site of work in October due to the possibility of later inaccessibility by highway vehicles because of winter snow conditions after that time; accessibility may be limited to across-snow transportation; a pre-proposal meeting will be held on November 22, 1999, at ll:00, local time, at the Tiller Ranger Station, 27812 Tiller-Trail Highway, Tiller, Oregon. Weather permitting, a site visit will be made after the initial office visit. If a site visit is not possible, a video tape and still photos of the project site will be shown in the office. Prospective offerors are encouraged to visit the site independently. This is a Request for Propsosals requiring completion of a questionnaire covering technical capability, technical approach, key personnel, environmental protection, work scheduling and past performance. The project magnitude is in the range between $250,000 and $500,000. Award evaluation criteria include technical capability specific to bridge removal and bridge construction, environmental protection, scheduling and past performance history in addition to price; award may be made without discussions.
